The Beauty of Letting Go

November 1, 2017 by eh287292@yahoo.com 1 Comment

autumn letting go

While we observe the autumn trees in full molt, we can all learn something from their wild, glorious farewell soiree… how to let go with beauty and grace.  Letting go can be powerfully liberating, making space for the things  that better nourish our souls, and better reflect who we currently are, or would like to be.  We often hold on to people, thoughts, objects, and routines out of habit and comfort, or fear, even when we know they are no longer good for us. So, give yourself permission during this highly energetic period of change to let go of the things that no longer serve you:

toxic relationships,

negative thoughts,

old habitual patterns,

unfulfilling commitments,

useless material clutter,

and self-deprecating behaviors.

What will remain is what really matters, what truly deserves your time and energy, as well as a whole lot of open space for you to fill (or not) with things that feed and nourish instead of starve and deplete.  I recommend taking another lesson from the trees:  allowing time to rest, reflect and restore your energy before bursting your branches again with a frenzy of new growth and activity.  Don’t fall victim to the vacuum of empty space by filling it too quickly with the easy and superfluous junk that bombards us every day.  Give yourself the time to figure out what you really want and need.  All the rest? Let it go on a breeze.
